Ring and finger size measurements

  • Use a piece of string or cut a thin strip of paper. Wrap it around your finger, crossing it slightly. Mark a small line at the two points where the string joins, then measure the distance between these two marks to get the circumference (the circumference) of your finger.

  • Correspondence between circumference and ring sizes

The circumference of your finger, expressed in millimeters, corresponds directly to the French ring size.

To find the diameter from the circumference, simply divide the latter by 3.14.

For example: a circumference of 57 mm gives a diameter of approximately 18.2 mm (57 ÷ 3.14), which is a size 8 in the United States according to the table below.

Conversely, if you know the diameter of a ring, simply multiply it by 3.14 to obtain the circumference.

How to choose the right ring size

You then simply need to consult the table of equivalencies between French and US sizes (see below) to make the right choice.
