The story of Cherinel
My name is Maxine. I'm a doula, birth companion, and mother. I experienced breastfeeding as an intimate journey, sometimes difficult, always precious. When that chapter came to a close, I felt the need to keep a tangible trace, something I could carry close to me.
That's how Cherinel was born. Not a jewelry brand. A workshop where every creation tells a unique story. Yours. The one of those sleepless nights, those moments of absolute connection, that strength you never knew you had.
Each piece is handcrafted in my workshop in Switzerland. Your breast milk is stabilized with care, then set into resin before being mounted into a piece of jewelry in 925 silver or 14K gold filled.
The process takes 8 weeks. Because what matters deserves time.

Frequently asked questions
Yes, even if it has been frozen for several years. Frozen breast milk remains perfectly suited for creating your jewelry, regardless of when it was expressed. According to La Leche League, breast milk properly frozen at -18°C keeps for 6 to 12 months depending on the type of freezer (source: LLL France) — but for your keepsake jewelry, the duration doesn't matter: we regularly receive samples frozen for years and the result is identical. Simply send us about 10ml of milk, thawed or still frozen, according to our detailed shipping instructions sent by email after your order.
Allow about 8 weeks from receipt of your milk sample at our workshop in Switzerland. This time allows us to carefully complete each step: milk stabilization, resin casting, drying, then artisanal setting in 925 silver, 14K gold filled, or 9K/14K solid gold depending on the model chosen. We send you a confirmation email as soon as we receive your milk, then regular updates until your jewelry ships, delivered in its signed box with a certificate of authenticity.
Yes, that's entirely possible, for a supplement of CHF 80. Many mothers choose this option to combine the milk of several of their children in a single piece, or to mark two different moments of the same breastfeeding journey (for example, in the case of extended breastfeeding). Simply specify your request in the instructions sent after your order.
Yes: delivery is free from CHF 200 of purchases in Switzerland. Below this amount, standard shipping fees apply at checkout.
Yes, every Cherinel piece is warranted for 12 months on the setting and assembly work (excluding normal wear and impacts). Full details are available in our Terms of Service. Each piece also comes with a certificate of authenticity confirming it was made with your breast milk.
Your milk is first stabilized using a gentle process that preserves its natural texture and color, then carefully embedded in resin. Once hardened, the resin is hand-set into your chosen mount — 925 silver, 14K gold filled, or 9K/14K solid gold — right at our workshop in Switzerland. Each piece is unique: the final shade varies slightly from one piece of jewelry to another, as it depends on the natural composition of your milk, much like a fingerprint.
Yes for milk from several children (see the question about two different milks, CHF 80 supplement). For adding a lock of baby hair, please contact us directly before ordering so we can confirm together whether it's feasible for your chosen jewelry model, as not all creations allow for it in the same way.
